Things to Consider While Shopping for a Datejust
When you visit the Rolex website and head over to the Datejust configuration page, you will notice that the website lets you pick between a huge list of variations. But which one is right for you? Or which could be the one that could fit your budget? Here are all your questions answered.
Case Size
Case size is one of the most crucial things to decide when shopping for any Rolex watch for that matter. Depending on how big or small your wrist is, you have to pick the right size that fits your wrist well. Usually, women lean towards the 28mm or 31mm options. There are women who do prefer bigger watches and often lean towards the 36mm option. The 36mm option is interestingly the first size that was introduced for the Datejust lineup. It is also considered a unisex version as men with relatively thinner wrist prefer buying the 36mm over the 41mm.
Lastly, the 41mm is the most popular variation in the lineup.
Material Options
The next thing that you need to decide is whether you want a Steel watch or you would like to have a two-tone look. With many religions being against wearing gold, the Stainless Steel option is relatively more popular at least in the Middle East region. Starting at a retail price of just about AED 33,200 for the 41mm model, the steel version is also quite inexpensive compared to the two-tone models.
But if you do like to spice things up, you can opt for a two-tone model that ranges from a combination of rose gold and steel or yellow gold and steel. Notably, the 31mm and 28mm variants are also available in full gold options.
Bezel Type
One of the things that can completely change the look of your watch is the bezel. The two most common options are Smooth Bezel and Fluted Bezel. While the Smooth Bezel is a bit more reasonable, the Fluted one gives a more striking look to your watch. Alternatively, you can also get a diamond-set bezel if you pick between a 28mm, 31mm, or 36mm model.
Bracelet Options
Primarily, there are two main bracelet options to choose from. These two are the Jubilee Bracelet and the Oyster Bracelet. While the Oyster one gives a more sporty appeal to the watch, the Jubilee one is more suited for formal occasions. For the ladies, the full gold Rolex Datejust 28mm and 31mm models also have the option of getting the Presidential bracelet.
Dial Variations
One of the most difficult choices to make is the dial color. Especially when picking up men’s luxury watches, the dial almost means everything. You have to pick the right color that actually relates to you. For the 41mm and 36mm versions, the more popular options are the Mint Green, Blue, and Wimbledon dials. As for the 31mm and 28mm variants, women often lean towards the Purple or Pink dial option with a Diamond set or Roman hour markers.
Which one is right for you?
This is something that totally depends on your style and your budget. If budget is a constraint, then you have to go with the basic Steel option with a smooth bezel and a basic silver or black dial. But if you would rather splurge some more money to get something that you actually like, then you have a plethora of options to choose from. You can use the customizer on the company’s website to test different variations and make a choice accordingly.
