Top 5 Watches Released in 2024
In the world of watches, we see a plethora of releases every year. This number tends to narrow down when you shift your focus towards only the luxury brands. But even then, there are different releases happening throughout the year. So, it was a really tough choice for me to pick out my favorite ones. As an avid watch collector and a watch dealer, I usually tend to like each and every watch as each one of them has its own character. Nonetheless, here are my favorite ones that released this year.
Rolex GMT Master II Bruce Wayne
Rolex GMT Master II Bruce Wayne was arguably one of my favorite watch releases this year. Throughout the year, we do tend to sell many GMT Masters most of them being the Pepsi or the Batman. This is because there were no other options for people who wanted a full Stainless Steel GMT. Rolex had an all black GMT Master II before, which in my opinion looked a lot similar to the Submariner.
Now, with the all-new Rolex 126710GRNR features a black and grey bezel that looks subtle and also manages to stand out when kept next to a Submariner. We first saw this bezel a while back when Rolex released the GRNR bezel for the Yellow Gold GMT. But with the release of this one, they brought that bezel to the stainless steel lovers out there. I have already added one to my collection and if you want to add one as well, you know where to visit.
Rolex Day-Date 40 White Gold Blue Ombre

I have always appreciated the timeless design of the Rolex Day-Date watches. But one thing I have always complained about is the limited number of dial options for the 40mm variant. One of my favorite combinations has always been the Rose Gold Olive Dial, which is the one I have recommended most of my clients as well. And who can hate the Money Dial on the Yellow Gold variant. But what about the White Gold? I always wanted to see something that went well with the tone of White Gold while also managing to stand out. Thankfully, Rolex did just that.
The new Blue Ombré dial is a gradient blue dial that transitions beautifully from black at the top to a dark shade of blue at the bottom, creating a mesmerizing effect. This is a dial that definitely suits the whole 18k white gold case and bracelet. This is also a watch that images can’t to justice to. You need to see this one in person!
Patek Philippe Cubitus
Patek Philippe has been taking pride in the Nautilus and Aquanaut collection for decades now. This year, they made a bold move and released a whole new collection called Cubitus. While this is not my absolute favorite watch, it not something I hate either. It is a bit of a controversial design but I would say it looks better in person than in pictures.
There are three different models in this collection, but if I had to pick only one of them it has to be the Cubitus 5822P, which is crafted out of Platinum. I really like the blue dial here and the moonphase indicator. The choice of the strap is also spot on!

Vacheron Constantin Rose Gold with Green Dial
This list is definitely incomplete without the mention of the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time with the new Green dial. Green has been a popular color option among watch brands over the last few years. While brands like Rolex did it right with the Mint Green Datejust and the Sky-Dweller, the Green dial seen on the AP watches was a bit underwhelming. But I am glad that Vacheron here was able to do great job and the green dial came out really nice.
I even checked out the watch in person while I was in Geneve attending the Watches & Wonders event. And I have to say these watches look absolutely stunning.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Sand Gold
My absolute favorite release of the year has been the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Sand Gold. Although I haven’t had the chance to hold one in person yet, the pictures and videos I have seen just tell me how unique this watch would look. Its neither yellow gold nor rose gold but a whole different material AP tried this time called Sand Gold. They also made the right decision going with the Openworked Tourbillon with this one as that would be the right way to showcase a whole new material option.
Some Honorable Mentions
2024 has been a stellar year for luxury watch releases, and the five watches mentioned above have been my absolute favorite releases. But besides these, there have been some other watches that do deserve your attention. These include the Rolex 1908, Richard Mille RM 65-01 McLaren, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar John Mayer Limited Edition, and many more. Besides that, AP released a few more Openworked models this year as well that turned out to be really nice. While each watch tends to bring its own character to the table, the list of the best watches released is rather subjective and the ones mentioned above are the best ones as per me.
