Watches & Wonders 2024: Rolex released new GMT-Master II, Sky-Dweller, Daytona models

Rolex has announced the launch of new models at the Watches & Wonders 2024. The highlight of it all is the new GMT-Master II Stainless Steel featuring the GRNR bezel and the new gold Sky-Dweller models with Jubilee bracelet. Check out the details of all the new models here.

New Rolex Releases 2024

Rolex took the stage by a storm at the launch event during the Watches and Wonders 2024 week. Just a few days ahead of the event, the Swiss watchmaker released a teaser video showcasing teasers to some of the upcoming releases. While the guesses were hard to make, some watch enthusiasts were able to tell that a Sky-Dweller Fulle Gold with Jubilee bracelet is on its way. However, what still remained unpredictable was the new GRNR bezel for the GMT-Master II. Check out full details about each of the new models here.

Rolex GMT Master II: A Subtle Evolution

Rolex released the two-tone yellow gold and steel GMT Master II last year featuring the GRNR bezel. The black-grey bi-color bezel did get the attention of watch enthusiasts however people hesitated to buy the piece just because of the fact that it was a two-tone variant. Being a sports watch, people prefer buying the stainless steel version. And now, Steel GMT buyers get the option to pick the more subtle GRNR bezel over the flashy Pepsi or Batman bezels.

This also reminds Rolex fans of the all-black bezel GMT Master II, which was discontinued back in 2018. Reminiscent of the same, this one also gets a Green GMT hand giving it a great contrast against the black dial. Even the GMT Master is written in green on the dial. The watch is available with both Jubilee and Oyster bracelet options. I love this piece and I am excited to check this out in person.

Rolex Sky-Dweller: Why should Steel have all the fun?

The Rolex Sky-Dweller has always been a popular choice among enthusiasts and collectors alike it is one of the most complicated watches ever released by the Swiss watch manufacturer. In the Sky-Dweller lineup, the Stainless Steel models with the Jubilee bracelet have seen the most demand. So, now Rolex has finally brought the Jubilee bracelet to its Rose Gold and Yellow Gold models.

By far, this is one of the best releases in the new Rolex lineup.

Rolex Daytona: Mother of Pearl

Rolex has brought back the Mother of Pearl dial for the new Daytona. The dial is available in the White Gold variant of the watch along with a Diamond-set bezel. The bezel will feature 36 brilliant-cut diamonds bringing maximum attention towards your wrist. This edition of the Rolex Daytona will be available in both Oysterflex and Oyster bracelet options. The Oyster bracelet variant comes with a Black Mother of Pearl dial with White counters giving a very different appeal. The Oysterflex variant on the other hand will get a White Mother of Pearl dial with Black counters, which goes really well with the black Oysterflex strap.

These two new Daytona watches not only feature diamonds on the bezel but also get 8 diamonds set on the hour markers on the dial itself. In my opinion, these are the perfect watches for anyone with an interest in flashy timepieces.

Rolex 1908: The Dress Watch gets a Platinum treatment

Rolex released the 1908 dress watch to replace the Cellini last year. Even though this is just a classic dress watch, it carries Rolex’s founding year right in its name and hence this watch has to be special in every way. Just a year after the official release, Rolex has now dropped a new Platinum version of the same bringing this classic dress watch to regal heights.

Making things even better, the Swiss watch brand has added a ice-blue dial featuring the Rice-grain motif pattern on it. The slender 39mm case, paired with a brown leather strap, just helps this watch set it apart from all the other dress watches in the market. I appreciate how Rolex has retained the essence of the 1908 while infusing it with a touch of exclusivity. This platinum variant is a statement piece—a conversation starter at soirées and boardrooms alike.

Rolex Sea-Dweller Yellow Gold: Bluesy for the Sea-Dweller lovers

Are you one of those people who really like the Full Yellow Gold Blue Dial Submariner but prefer the perks of a Sea-Dweller instead? Rolex has launched just the watch for you. A new variant of the Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea crafted entirely in solid 18k yellow gold. This watch is unapologetically hefty, and bringing enough attention to your wrist the watch features a Blue Dial paired with a Blue ceramic bezel.

The RLX titanium helium escape valve, a technical marvel, ensures this watch can withstand pressures at unfathomable depths.
