Mission to Moonphase
The all-new Omega x Swatch Mission to Moonphase features an all-white Bioceramic case paired with a white Velcro strap. It looks like any other MoonSwatch until you move your attention towards the sub-dial set at 2 o’clock.
MoonPhase Taking All the Attention
At 2 o’clock, Snoopy lies on the moon. It is a nice little touch that pays homage to both space history and our favorite cartoon character. With the moon phase indicator, the watch can accurately depict the exact phase of the moon outdoors. Since this uses a quartz movement, you can be assured that this will not go out of sync if you do not wear the watch for a few days.
Hidden Secret
With this collaboration between Omega and Swatch, there is even a little easter egg for the MoonSwatch fans. On the mask of the moon phase indicator, they have a text that says “I can’t sleep without a night light!” But here’s the catch. The text is only made visible when an ultraviolet light is thrown on it. Besides that, you can also see the crescent moon light up in blue followed by stars around it upon its exposure to ultraviolet light.
Details that matter
If you have already looked at the case back of the watch, look at it again and this time look closely. While the image of the moon grabs your attention with a cute paw on it, you need to look around the case back a little more. The caseback flaunts the text “Dream Big – Fly Higher – Explore the Universe – Reach for the Planets – Enjoy the Mission.”
One of the best-looking MoonSwatch so far
With the whole Plannet Mission concept, the Omega x Swatch collaboration brought in a variety of watches that played with different colorways. These watches featured a two-tone look and that has changed with the release of the Mission to MoonPhase. An all-white timepiece that does stand out on the basis of its color. But it also gains a lot of attention because of its distinctive dial.
Personally, I have owned and enjoyed the Mission to Earth. I believe that struck the perfect balance out of all the MoonSwatch models released earlier. The colors used are not too tacky but also not too subtle still managing to stand out. It’s like wearing the Earth on my wrist, a grounding reminder of our cosmic home. Also, it was relatively easier to get just after a couple of months of its release while people were still struggling to get their hands on the other variations.
I have never had this urge to go after the whole collection and start adding watches to my watch box. But this Mission to MoonPhase has me over the moon (pun intended). Moreover, I have always loved the Omega Speedmaster Silver Snoopy Award and this Snoopy MoonSwatch pays homage to the same.
Omega x Swatch Mission to Moonphase: Price & Availability in the UAE
Just like all the other MoonSwatch watches, this Mission to Moonphase timepiece will also be available exclusively via Swatch outlets. The watch is set to hit the stores on March 26, 2024. According to the Swatch UAE website, the Mission to Moonphase will initially only be available via the Swatch store located in the Mall of the Emirates. The Snoopy MoonSwatch is also expected to be made available in limited stock and hence you can expect a huge queue outside the MOE branch on Tuesday morning.
In the United Arab Emirates, the Mission to Moonshine has been priced at AED 1,120, which is a bit more expensive than the sticker price of the other MoonSwatch models which is set at AED 940. The price difference is of course due to the added complication.
